UBU Video Productions Launches in Niagara
September 15, 2010, Thorold, Ontario:: A new vision for video production has been unveiled. Mervin Wrighton is a videographer whose passion for creating quality online and production videos has led him to launch a new company. UBU Video Productions is a full service video production company that shoots, edits and produces all corporate and personal video needs.
“The video production market is very fragmented” says Merv Wrighton, owner of UBU Video Productions. “Finding a company with the skills to do the job isn’t difficult, but prices for a lot of online web video production are still very high despite technological advances. One advantage for us as a new company is we’ve been able to get into the market without massive overhead which allows us to be very price competitive on our projects. Combined with our experience, we’re able to produce very high quality work for 20-50% less than our competition which represents a great value to our customers.”
One focus of UBU Video productions is webeo production – web videos designed to be used as online commercials. Within the first month of launch they had shot more than 10 webeos for local businesses indicating the strong demand for these services. While the focus is on webeos, UBU Video Productions is capable of producing any video requirement from weddings and music videos to corporate training and special event videos.
Merv is a graduate of the Television Broadcasting program at Niagara College and is a former employee of Rogers Community 10. During his tenure at Rogers he was the producer of the weekly half hour television show Community Magazine. He has produced (shot, edited and written) for a variety of organizations such as the Niagara Regional Police, Brock University, Casino Niagara, the Royal Henley Regatta, Cuvee, the Niagara Peninsula Children’s Center and more. Depending on client requirements, Merv works alone or assembles a team of creative conspirators to ensure client videos are shot and produced as cost-effectively as possible.
